Re: Surrendering a Car???

I feel like I'm gonna cry.  Just applied for a Capital One Auto Loan and was denied.  I am too surrendering my car in my bankruptcy and need to find a vehicle for transportation to and from work.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should apply or when I should apply?  My bk was filed this week but I am so nervous thinking that I won't be able to find a car and then won't be able to get to work.  Thank you for helping me! Re: Surrendering a Car???

Santander and Wells Fargo are pretty popular post-bk lenders. Wait until your discharge, then apply at roadloans.com or something similar. I got my first post bk7 car loan with wells fargo 2 days or so post discharge, the interest rate was sooo high 19.99, but you can always build some positive history with the high interest loan and then refinance with a credit union

Re: Surrendering a Car???

Prestige Financial actually financed me two weeks after filing and before my 341. The interest was insane, but I paid for six months then refied with my credit union at half the rate. It can be done. I also think it depends on your jurisdiction, because I've recommended prestige to others and they didn't get helped. Won't hurt to try.

Re: Surrendering a Car???

i was in a very similar boat when i filed...take my word for it there is a lender out there (drivetime, jd byryder, any buy here pay here) that will want your money. on one hand yes you filed bk but on the other the lender knows you can not file again for 7-10 years btw i have had 2 loans since bk first one had 19.99 apr, second 1 year later has 5.9
