Update! Capital One Prequal...

I'm sooooo nervous to apply. I received the

"Congratulations! We think you’ll like this pre-qualified card offer(s)."

Platinum and QS1.

I burned them bad and boy do I mean bad.

I went ahead and applied for the platinum, as advised on here to do since it's easy to PC.

$2000 SL!!!  I am in total shock! Yay me! Tomorrow is one week post Ch7 DC.

I would be leary based on the text.  I got something from Chase like this and I was still declined for a card from them and they were IIB for me.

Maybe firemedic will chime in... on another thread they said they were approved 3 weeks out and did burn them. From what I'm seeing their prequal site seems legit.

From what I've seen chase seems to be a no go for a while even if you didnt burn them.

You are right and I just realized this is Captial One.  They seem better about letting you back in.

Congrats! The same exact amount I started with as my 1st card out of BK. But I did have a auto loan at the time with perfect payments with Cap1 that I reaffirmed and it was paid off 8 months after BK. To the other poster. Chase, BoA, Citi wont touch you with a BK.You have a better shot at getting hit by lightning than getting approved right out of BK. AMEX is 5yrs 3 Months though. You made the right choice. Wait for your 3rd statement to cut and then go online and hit the SP CLI. Then their credit steps will kick in at 6 months.

My posts are JMHO. I DO NOT claim to be a FICO expert. Just sharing my experiences from rebuild to recovery after BK DC.

Re: Update! Capital One Prequal...

Hi StartingOver,

Congrats!

When you say you "burned them bad" exactly how bad?

I've been checking the prequal site daily, today is exactly one year since filing and Capital One still hates me.

My scores are all in the 630-640 range.

If only we could get into the mind of Capital One....
