Hi, all! I'm in the planning stages, and trying to figure out a few timing issues, but I'm mostly thinking ahead to rebuilding. I've never had a 30-days late in my life, and I will be reaffirming 2 loans, so I don't want to mess up my rebuilding head start with lates. I'm also just about out of money, and need to figure out the best timing so that I don't spend needlessly, and so that nothing looks preferential or planned. This is just one consideration...
Some credit card companies delete tradelines after discharge. For example, I have heard that this may be true for Synchrony. In your experiences, which tradelines (if any) have disappeared from your credit files after discharge? And how quickly did that happen? Also, how long ago did you file? (what was true 5 years ago isn't necessarily true now)
I am especially curious about Citibank, Barclays, Synchrony, Discover, Comenity, and CFNA, but there's a bunch of smaller ones too.
Thank you!
While I'm not saying none do, I can honestly say I've never heard of one which does.
That said, trade line deletes or not, your rebuild will take the same amount of time regardless. Why? Because having a bankruptcy on your reports trumps all other derogatory marks; until the bankruptcy drops from your reports (10-years for Chapter-7, and 7-years for Chapter-13), your scores will be depressed.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
Agree with the above post. I think you're asking the wrong question, it sounds like you're trying to find out how to improve your score after filing BK.
The short answer is that you'll be taking a FICO score hit as described above because of the BK public record, but you can get a decent score bump afterwards through establishing revolving credit as soon as possible, i.e secured cards or creditors who'll easily approve w recent BK such as Cap1.
I didn't have a Sync card when I filed so I can't speak to them. I had no one delete any tradelines upon filing or discharge.
Somehow I get the impression we're not going to be hearing from @BrianKeith again.

Probably not. But sometimes rage posters do pop back up to complain and whinge, so who knows ?

Bummer.
@BrianKeith OP is actually right. Sharing from my personal experience, SYNCB DOES IN FACT delete all tradelines after bankruptcy discharge. My Amazon Store Card, Lowes, Care Credit, BP Rewards Visa, Sony Store Card were included in my 2020 BK7 and the tradelines were automatically removed from all bureaus after discharge. Similarly, Elan Financial Services deleted the tradeline for the Fidelity Rewards Visa card. Mercedes Benz Financial also did the same for my auto loan tradeline IIB that was not reaffirmed. Citibank also deleted the tradeline for my Citi Prestige card but somehow left the Citi Double Cash Card on my report. Now I'd say though, the Citi Prestige account was sold to Calvary Portfolio prior to filing BK but both Citi & Calvary deleted the account after discharge. The Citi DC was in good standing and never late so probably why they still kept it on my report.
In addition to the previous creditors I listed, Citi BestBuy also deleted my BestBuy store card tradeline after discharge.
