I am wondering when filing bankruptcy does it become public knowledge? I heard in some states it is listed in the newspaper. Is this accurate?

I am not sure about the newspaper.  I heard that before too not sure if it was and is still true.

I do know that anyone can sign up for a pacer account and check.  I am not sure about the legality of looking up someone for no valid purpose, but it's public record so it's not like running a credit report on them.
