chapter 13 discharge question

Unfortunately, I have a hard time getting a hold of our bk attorney.  so I have a question as we are close to the end of our chapter 13, Does it get discharged after 60 mos or when the base amout is paid?  because 60 months ends is October but the base would not have been paid until November.

Be very diligent in getting a hold of someone at your atty's office. Can you email your atty??. I have seen several similar questions answered on here that state the base plan has to be paid, but I would get the actual answer from your attorney.. Good luck with your soon to be chapter 13 discharge and also getting a hold of your attorney!!

Hi:

 We too are near the end of our chapter 13.  we spoke directly to our trustee and the base amount has to be paid in full before you can get a discharge..  " If the unsecured percent is less than 100 and you have NOT paid your base amount, then you'll need to continue paying untill you meet your base."

thanks!  I did get ahold of our attorney and he said we had to pay the remaining balance of $1090.  then the discharge will take about 30 days from receipt of payment.  We are making our last payment on friday.  I cannot wait to get those discharge papers in my hand!

Congratulations on completing your chapter 13. We will be finished in January, which will be a long 5 yrs 9 mths..  I guess not too many people who file chapter 13 actually finish.  So it's a big accomplishment...I am Making October's payment tomorrow....then 3 to go

Congrats! Getting thru bk13 can be a challenge. So glad you made it to the end. Like mentioned above so many don't. CONGRATS!!!

Thanks! I think I read a statistic that only 22% finish. I think a lot convert to 7. We just could never qualify. Or get our attorney to do it he was not very good.
