Assuming the judgement was not awarded because of a non-dischargable reason (e.g. fraud, malicious injury, drunk driving), obtaining a discharge will remove your liability to repay the debt.
You will likely not qualfiy for a mortgage until 2-4 years post-discharge though (2 years for government loans; 4 years for conventional loans).
