Yes, an application for many (read: all) business credit cards will show a HP on your personal file. Good news is that will be the only mark on your personal file unless you default or become severely delinquent.
If you are seriously in the market THIS WEEK I suggest you take a look at the Chase Ink business cards. Nice additional bonus thru this Sunday for Small Business Week. Chase is quite lenient with new business ventures as long as your personal credit is in good shape. Many people report getting an Ink card with zero $ in sales - in other words a start up.
