American Express Blue Business Plus Approval (Card name corrected, doh!)

So much for staying in the garden. I was 10 days short of a year, but I decided to apply for this card, namely to earn 2 ppd. My only other MR card is the AmEx Plat, and I needed something that earned more points and to try to use large amount of available credit I have with AmEx.

In any case, AmEx was kind enough to take $9k from my AmEx SkyMiles Platinum card to open this account. I'm good with this, but really would have liked for them to have taken it from my BCE (which I don't use). Now that the account is open, I'll shuffle things around to get the lines where I want them. Approved with SP, EX 850.

Nicely done! Shame you couldn't make it the full year, feels like you saw the finish line and took a nosedive a few feet short Smiley LOL

That's okay, you'll hit one year, next year 10 days soonerSmiley Wink Congrats!

So how do you shuffle around $$$ between cards?  Do you call in or what? nevermind; found it.

Meh. I have to work on the 20th, and I'm off today. So...well, you know what they say about idle hands. 😈

My ultimate plan is going to be another couple years. I'll eventually apply for a Schwab Platinum and downgrade my vanilla platinum to Green (I have this crazy notion that I'm going to become an expat). I can use points for travel, or I can transfer with the 25% bonus to my investment account.  But, that's the long game, and things can change between now and then.

Congrats on the approval!

I'm not sure of the exact rules of gardening, but since it was a SP and a business card, you haven't really changed anything in your personal reports. I'd say you're still in the garden Smiley Wink

Actually, it's any new credit account...regardless if HP or SP or personal or business. I'm okay, you're okay, we're all okay - and what's the use of gardening, if I can't reap the rewards?

Does a business card even count?  If so, that seems wrong as business is business (if genuine).  I guess it could come down to intent.  Smiley Happy
