Partner applied yesterday and it was instantly denied.
Called today and after having to ask for a supervisor he came on the line and said he could read the reasons since online wasn't allowing the decline letter to pull up....
2nd reason on letter was a "Returned payment to Amex"
LIGHT BULB MOMENT! Amex will block your accounts from CLI's and New accounts within 6 months I believe it is if you have a returned payment.
no credit pull was done.
provided the information that our checking account was stolen around june and forgot to update the new account with auto payments with amex and the 2nd the email came from amex that payment was returned it was corrected and paid and it wasn't even late!
he notated and sent the app for manual review by credit analyst... check back in 3-5 days.
