Amex Bus Plat - To keep or not to keep?

My annual fee is coming up soon, and I'm seriously debating whether to keep this card.

In a way I love having it, especially the ability to go to airport lounges.

But I just don't do that much traveling.

And $450 is no chump change.

For me its a keeper. If $450 is too steep, consider the BRG.

You definitely want to make sure you're getting the full value for your annual fee.  In my case the Airline and Uber credits alone pretty much covers the AF.  Throw in Global Entry/Pre-Check and you're $50 ahead of paying those expenses out of pocket.

Maybe what I need to do is take the time to study up on all those perks I haven't been using.

I don't think the business version comes with the Uber credits.

You're right...my bad!  So the best benefits on the Platinum Business I can come up with are:

  • $200 annual airline credit
  • 1,000+ airline lounge access
  • 10 Gogo/Boingo passes annually
  • Fee credit for Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check
  • Starwood Preferred Gold status

I think I'm going to hold on to it for another year and see if I can start tweaking some benefit out of it.
