No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Business partner received preapproval for Amex gold. Not interested in a charge card, so we called to see if we qualify for a revolving card. Was told ,Business Blue and Amazon Business. Since we got an offer for the BCC, I was thinking our business credit would be strong enough to cover the credit decision . But she said it's a 50/50 chance , if not then they would run personal. If BC fails they just do a HP without asking if we want to proceed with the HP. That sucks !
I've seen a few members say they were approved with no HP.
Any data points on the minimum BC to avoid a personal HP.
Is it true that Amex will let you apply for multiple accounts within 30min using one HP ?
Thanks
Sometimes the reps can be misinformed or confusing
It's usually YMMV as someone who is already a customer with them; I've been denied plenty for business but haven't gotten a HP from a business denial after many attempts. Prior to being a cardholder, I did take hard pulls upon attempting for a card.
"minimum BC"? You mean minimum credit limit? It averages $2000 on the low end for Blue Business Cash/Plus. $9000 is also common, probably a bit more common than the $2000 from recent data points.
If you are not currently an Amex cardholder, you will 99%+ get a HP for any application with them.
After your first card with them, HPs are less likely in the future, but there is no guarantee they will not pull your credit for future applications
While your business credit may be viewed and considered by American Express, the small business cards are still personally guaranteed by you and your credit, which are also determinants in the application process
I have 4 buisness cards with amex (will be scraping the buisness platinum in a year or 2) and no hp on any of them.
I have a personal Amex that is just over a year old, and no HP for the Blue Biz Cash.
I can't recall which MF wise-sage-on-the-mountain spoke years ago, but the gist was that pretty much always expect an HP for any credit app. If they SP - consider it a bonus.

In my experience, and that of a lot of people in this forum, if you already have an Amex card, and you apply for another, it's a soft pull.
I never heard of it being tied to one's credit score.
That being said, I would never apply for any card with anybody without being ready, willing, and able to accept a hard pull.
OP, you can place a bet.
Dh results 2019/2020:
BBC= hp plus another hp for employee cards a couple of days later due to fraud alert, total 2 *eta: fraud alert lifted after this.
Delta personal=hp
BCE= hp
Bonvoy biz= sp (locked reports!)
Avg. Exp score= 780's
My results 2019/2020:
Lowe's= hp plus another hp due to duplicate app/ their error (removed)
Amazon biz= hp
Magnet= hp
Avg. Exp score= 730's
All cli's= sp
American Express seemed to change up the HP thing recently.
What I have found is, if you have a Business card, new business cards will be NO HP.
If you have a business and apply for personal, it's a HP.
Vice Versa
American Express doesn't even pull business credit that I know of and it's certainly not helping approve applications if they are, 100% on personal credit.

I have a paid subscription to Experian Business with hp's from Amex.
All of mine are hp's (personal and biz) and all of his with the exception from past weekend are hp's. All biz app's I see on my Exp Biz report when someone has done a hp. I always refresh my Exp Biz report day before I app, day of app, and day after to confirm if there was a hp. There always is. Plus Exp. Biz emails me notifications.
Just this weekend, Amex pulled Exp Biz, but dh's personal reports were locked.
So this is 2nd biz card is the first out of 4 Amex cards (2 biz, 2 personal) that he was approved with a personal sp but still a hp on Exp Biz.
Then I'll rephrase and say I think it plays little to nothing into the approval if the personal credit isn't good enough.
