Just wanted to share a data point for the U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards card that might be helpful, especially for those with a light relationship with US Bank.
Approval: Approved today (same-day) Credit Limit: $10,000 APR: 23.49% No Documents requested, no articles of incorporation or proof of address nor bank statement requests.
My Profile:
Bank Relationship: Very light. I have a personal checking account with them that I opened in 2023 that just gets one small direct deposit and has one monthly charge. No other credit exposure with them at all (no loans, no prior cards) I do have a Elan Fidelity Visa though. I also have a brokerage account but its also very tiny, that’s how I was able to get in with US Bank since they don’t have branches in my area.
Recent Accounts: Recently approved for a Rocket Mortgage. No other new revolving accounts in the last 12 months.
Credit Bureau Pulled: Transunion (TU)
Inquiries (TU): 5 total
2 in 2025 (including this one) (One mortgage)
3 in 2024
FICO Score (at time of app): TU FICO 8: 796
The Process: This was a same-day approval, but not an instant approval. I completely forgot to thaw my Transunion report before applying.
I immediately realized I didn't thaw TU due to no hardpull and emailed a US Bank Rep that reached out to me last year to let her know. An hour later I got a notice of the hard pull, and a few hours later, I got the approval message.
So, for anyone else who forgets... there's hope! Happy to get in the door with US Bank on the business side with just a minimal checking account relationship.
I forgot to mention, the account is already reporting in Online Banking.
I wasn't going to apply for anything until 2026, but what the heck. Why not get the bonus while it's being offered. I am glad to be in with them as I am interested in their other business products in the future.
