So, I was going back and forth on applying for the Delta Business Platinum or Gold in early October, as I need the miles (30,000 or 35,000 for $1,000 spend on either) for an award flight I plan to book in February, and hitting the MSR in the next couple months is a no-brainer. So I'm SO glad I saw the news this morning about all the changes coming to the Amex Delta cards tomorrow (Oct. 1).
First of all, the new annual fee of $250 for the Platinum just pushes it over the edge for me, that's a little too much just for the 5k extra miles (which is all I want it for), so I immediately decided on the Gold. However, there is no way I could spend $4,000 on the Gold in the next three months, 70,000 miles or not (that's the new SUB announced today, which goes into effect tomorrow!). So I went ahead and applied early this morning to lock in the regular MSR/SUB of $1k/30k miles, and I was instantly approved, with a $10,000 CL, my first business card with Amex.
Another DP, Amex seems to be pretty good with automatically expediting the Delta co-branded cards: they overnighted my Delta Platinum to me back in June, and it seems they're doing the same with the Business Gold ("will arrive in 2-3 business days").
Congrats on the card. Where you going?
Thailand! Not til the end of 2020, though...
