Approved for Chase Marriott Rewards Premier Plus Business card

Applied online on Sat. 7/26; received the "thank you for applying for a Chase card" e-mail immediately, called the application status line this morning (Mon. 7/28) to hear I've been approved for a CL of $5,000, though I still haven't received a confirmation e-mail.

I'm happy to join the DPs which prove that this card (which will be closed to new applicants on Feb. 12, I believe) is not under 5/24, meaning that you can be over 5/24 and still get approved for it (I'm 6/24 as of early November, when I was approved for a Chase IHG Premier just days before *that* card went under 5/24). And of course since it's a business card, I remain at 6/24.

I know it's not the strongest card in the world, and that having it locks me out of the Amex SPG (excuse me..."Bonvoy") cards for the next two years, but I'm at peace with that, and I can use the 75,000 Marriott/Bonvoy points (after $3,000 MSR). It's also nice to get my total CL pushed up to $14,000, which will help with utilization.

I really should be gardening now, heheh, but upon reading that this was pretty much the last Chase card not under 5/24, and that it was going away in a few weeks, I couldn't resist...plus, I've been wanting to get started with business cards (this is my first)...I have an actual sole proprietorship through which I sell textbooks I've written online and provide educational consulting, though it's very low-income.

I do not plan to apply for any more cards until Feb. 2020; by August 2020 I'll be 2/24 and plan to really get going on some apps (Chase CIP, Amex Plat, Hilton Aspire). Smiley Very Happy

Congratulations on getting your first business credit card, and a good one at that. Be sure to keep your business expenses separate from your personal ones, life will be a lot easier come tax time.

One more DP on this card: received it in the mail today, exactly one calendar week after approval. And...it's metal! Haha, does Chase make any cards that *aren't* metal these days?
