I would like to open a business checking account. Besides Chase, are there other alternatives to consider among both banks and credit unions (Bay area)?
Preferences: Free ACH (in/out), limited or no maintenance fee, limited ATM fee, physical branch in the Bay area.
We're in the Southern Arizona area and have banked with Chase since we opened the business. We have had one business banking rep reach out in 9 years. But, I'm sticking with them for now. I opened a PNC business checking account last year for a signup bonus and will use that account for something in the business. This year I am going to open a CU account with an Arizona based CU that I hear works great with small businesses. I want to establish that relationship to help with truck loans and in the next 2 years, real estate for the business.
I can't answer your question directly, but depending on your needs, either a major bank for convience, or the CU route for the relationships, in the Bay area, you won't have a problem finding either.
Good luck!
Since you need local branch access, I will recommend the U.S. Bank Business Essentials account. It has no monthly fee, and they have lots of branches in the SF Bay Area. There's also a $400 bonus available now.
I have this account and I consider it a keeper.
