Capital One Spark Cash Select-Declined

Tried to apply for this last week for the 12 month 0% APR offer and no luck. CSR said it only required good credit.

AA letter:

755 EQ Consumer (must be Bankcard 5, 4, 2)

Time since recent account opening too short (1 month?)

Too many inquires in the last 12 months (5 EQ)

Too many accounts with balances (9/23 accounts with balances)-Overall utilization less than 1% though.

Yep....C1 is just too fickle for my tastes.

Similar experience in the past.

The reason for decline didn't match my CR in nearly any way.

Took the 3 INQ hit and have moved on. There are similar or better lenders out there.

Indeed!!! And business accounts that won't post to your personal CB like Cap1 does...

I believe the Spark Cash Select series doesn't post to your personal CB but all the other Cap1 business cards do.

@Citylights18 the Select Cash definitely reports to personal, it was the Select Plus that was supposed to be the one reporting to business only. However I put little faith in them to be honest. Sorry about your denial but there are better choices out there.

@Schmoopy it's very common for Cap1 to pull all 3 bureaus.
