@ultimaterewardsguy357 wrote:Excited to share that today at around midnight I applied for the CIU because I was really excited to finally be under 5/24. Well, my application went pending and I had every intention to call the business reconsideration line and push for an approval first thing in the morning. First thing this morning, I log into my Chase app only to be met with a denial:Denial Reasons:- Delinquency or other derog relationship with our bank (14 years ago when I didn't know any better I had a Chase Slate that was charged off. Chase has a long memory FYI)- Limited business credit experience (Former 6-year sole prop turned LLC and I expected this)- Business too new (Same as above)- Length of time since the oldest credit card was opened is too short (True but not a deal-breaker)I called reconsideration and was questions about my business:- 2021 revenue- 2021 profit- 2020 revenue- 2020 profit- nature of my business- how long I have been in business- why do I want another card- rent/mortgage- income- past derog/charge offThey acknowledged my past mistake and mentioned that my existing relationship trumps this as well as my existing Ink Cash relationship. I was then told to call verification to finish the process and I was approved for an initial SL of $3,000. Due to Chase auto CLI of my Ink Cash from $5,000 to $11,500, I transferred over $2,500 to help with the minimum spend for the next 92 days.As always, see my personal DPs below, HTH. GL!

Good for you. I wouldn't have had the nerve to hang in there and fight for it, like that. Good work.

Thank you! There are so many people that don't take the time to pick up the phone and call recon. I was confident I could plead my case. Very happy that it worked in my favor.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take? I am not entirely sure I used that correctly. I'm a big fan of calling recon when not auto-approved. I believe it's standard with Chase on their Inks. My CIC was auto-approved via BRM while I was over 5/24. Being under 5/24, I wanted to help a friend out. The calls were painless and I was super nice on the call.

Oh there you go. I'm not good at pretending to be super nice
Congrats on your recon approval!

IF....if.....at the time of applying whens scores are at their best or close to it, utilization at it's low'est' or close then perhaps I'd call and inquire as well. But it's hard to be confident selling yourself in person/phone if you feel like you're best foot forward is not something you can do at the moment, believing certain criteria is preferrable.
When I app'd for Cap1 Savor I called and was like, "Wth, you approved dh and not me?!? I'm a better bet!!!!!!" ahahaha...it worked! Lol, that was bold on my part and my best foot was forward. Nowadays I have two left feet.
Hopefully it's not 'all' in the timing and perhaps showing you utilize your credit, having a long positive pymt history, etc will be your strong suit. Still so hopeful for you @SouthJamaica and perhaps you'll hear something soon.
With it taking this long perhaps they see you as a potentially active/good customer and are deciding on the sl. I'm really, really hopeful since it wasn't an instant denial. If it turns out to be denial then perhaps consider calling. With 1/2 drink in hand, dial for dollars...it's not like it would hurt at that point. But be nice....I think you are and can slather on the charm....if not...click!
OP! @ultimaterewardsguy357 good going and ty for the dp's. That Wayne Gretzky saying is spot on.....easier said than done at times but spot on.
