Did Citi really just increase my interest to 39.99%?

I will call in a little bit with an update, but I think I would just cry, that's why I have not called yet.  They just granted CLI last month and I had to use the CL this month for a business trip and won't be able to pay it off right now

  Holy cow!  That will be the highest APR I have heard of.  That's OVER 3% monthly on balances!  I would find a BT somewhere fast! 

Prior to this 31.99% was the highest I had seen.

Let us know if this is really the rate.

sorry looks like false alarm, I called customer service and they assured me 9.24% was my current rate and not changing

I'm not understanding.  Were you told by a rep that it would be increased?  did you receive something written in the mail or electronically that it would be increased to near 40%?  did you just read something online and think you would be affected by that increase?

You're a super contributor, so you already know:  Never trust the verbal word of Customer Service Reps.  Did the rep offer to send you this assurance by postal service in writing?  (I had to make requests like that with two different banks, over the years.  One bank gave me the information I was looking for; the other didn't.)

I had got a post card in the mail but I was not having a good day and just through it away, it wasn't until the next day that it came across my mind and I started thinking about it but I had already thrown the post card away, I know stupid me... guess I'll just wait for my statment
