Hi, we have a small eBay business and I'm wondering is it ok to give my spouse an employee card since they do a lot of the spending for purchases? Or is that frowned upon by Amex? Anyone have experience doing so?
In my experience, AMEX does not care at all. I have 10 AMEX Business cards and my wife and other relatives (including my children) are AUs on almost every single card. As long as you pay your bills, AMEX is fine. Others may chime in with their experience but I have never had any issues.
Thank you! Have you given any of them an employee card yet? Or is that the same as authorized user and then they just send them a card? I've. Ive never really been or had anyone be an authorized user so not sure how that works

I don't think Amex would care, but it should be used purely for purposes of your eBay business. Otherwise you could create bookkeeping, accounting, tax, and legal problems for the business.

I used the terms authorized user and employee card interchangeably in this case. Yes, they have employee cards and they all get sent to me to hand out. As was pointed out, make sure you are careful with accounting.
My spouse is an AU on all of my business cards
