I received my Lexis Nexis Small Business Financial Exchange Commercial Credit Report (SBFE).
It has a wrong business phone number listed.
I've been calling Lexis Nexis for over 9 months to dispute the busines phone number, but they haven't been able to change it.
Apparently Lexis Nexis gets their data from "sources" and aren't able to update the information themselves.
Does anyone know what "sources" they get data from, and how to correct and update business information?
I saw your subject line and I was just going to say that you won't be able to change it because they will tell you they get their information from different sources, but you already knew that.
What I would do, and have done for about 20 years now. I would go to listyourself.net, a free service so I don't think I am violating any rules here.
There you can get listed in a national 411 directory that the CRA, Lexis Nexis and other places have used for decades to see the phone numbers associated with businesses.
So while changing your number at Lexis Nexis may be a problem, you can get an additional number listed. It should take about 3 days to get the number populated in the 411 database, but I don't know how long until Lexis Nexis will pick it up.
