From what I understand you need to get a print out from Sam's acknowledging your approval for a store card or MC and at a specific APR.
Did you receive this? It also can tell you that you are eligible for the MC if you call and verify info within 3 days.
Between Sam's employees and Synchrony's employees it's rarely a smooth operation for Sam's MC approval.

I do know of people that have both store and MC.
