AMEX Denial....

I've been an AMEX card member for 3 yrs.  I have the GOLD card (NPSL) and the Blue Cash Preferred (10k).  I hit the love button and got the 7-14 day msg.  I called customer service to find out the details.  Apparently AMEX is using a credit report from FEB 16, 2019 to base it's decision.  I had a collection account that I finally got deleted after 8 months of struggles.  I asked the CSR to sent me request to the UW for reconsideration and requested the use a current credit report.  Do I have any other recourse then to wait the 90 days to re apply?

Re: AMEX Denial....

Sorry to hear...but can u share the details of their response to pull a recent CR, etc. If they obliged, hold out...in the meantime, I'm assuming yes but asking anyway, have you made sure your EX report is showing free of any collections/lates, etc.?

AMEX cli question

As I understand the cli request process, if you are denied you must wait 90 days to request again.  My question is, if the denial was based on an old credit report, would a request prior to the 90 days still be a denial?  Apparently AMEX used a report from February 16, 2019 which is now 100% clear and my scores have substantially improved.  Ex 712 Tu 711 Eq 716

You could try calling in and see if they will pull from your latest report, but another 91 days is the norm after a denial unless you were denied because you applied for the increase too soon after card opening or your last CLI.

Re: AMEX cli question

I spoke to someone, a credit analyst I think, he advised me to fax in a current copy of my 3 CR and he would re-submit to the UW.  Anyone ever heard of this?

Re: AMEX cli question

In my opinion, i wouldnt do that. They can access your reports if needed, provided they are frozen. I would just try again in 3 months.

Lol, i tried recently for cli knowing i wouldnt get any due to my newish pl snd cc , plus low income, but like to see the reasons denied. First one was " Too many creditors looking at my report" lol. Just say too many inquiries please. I spook easy with Big Brothers HahaSmiley Happy
