AMEX everyday card

I already have bluecash with 30k limit . Applied for this got approved for 15 k however credit limit for blue cash was reduced to 15k immediately when checked online. Any idea why my limit on blue cash was reduced?

Re: AMEX everyday card

Amex sometimes reallocates money in order to approve another card. You might be close to your current maximum with them.

Discover It: 21.5k
Amex Cash Magnet: 18k
Fidelity Visa: 16.5k
Apple Card: 4.25k

Re: AMEX everyday card

Hi OP and welcome.

It sounds like you have met your internal maximum credit limit with AmX and since they wanted to approve the everyday card, they just reallocated funds from the blue to the everyday.

Re: AMEX everyday card

You can make requests with 180 days between CLIs. If your request would put you over what AmEx is comfortable extending, they’ll counter or deny.

These numbers are close to mine, except they gave me $19.5 on the ED and reduced my Blue by $16k from 31k. The Blue is PIF with only small periodic charges over the last 6 months. The funny thing is I app'ed the Delta Gold card a couple of weeks later and they gave me $10k on that without taking it from any other cards. I have no idea what a CLI request will get you, but I'd be interested in hearing back if you try it.
