Talked to the rep today she is trying to work on it. Told me that she is overwhelmed by the applications lol. My only worry is that I just got approved for SECU 20k signature and 10k PLOC. AND PenFed offered me another card for 10k. So those recent inquiries might be a deal breaker 😔

...especially if you apply from out of state!
But seriously, is membership of the Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association all that it takes for an AOD membership to be approved? Even from states that are geographically thousands of miles away?
(you'd be on your bike for a while!)

That's all it takes!
Be prepared to get a lot of documents. I had to provide a whole list of documents including POI.

Hopefully they hired a consultant from the San Diego chapter of The Navy League now that membership there probably dropped by like 850,000% since it stopped being a back door into Navy Federal. 😬

Yes, but I also wonder what the cost is to them of signing up a new member, hopefully less than $5.

That's exactly what I did. Joined NEABA for a monthly $5, and joined AOD. Cancelled my NEABA membership after joining AOD. Total cost, $5.
Also, I'm in Washington State. I've never even been to Alabama.
So, you start off with NEABA (Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association) but you are ultimately routed to IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association) to sign up for membership. Which chapter of IMBA did you guys choose? I was torn between Alabama, Murrieta (the city where I live here in CA), or National. I went with National with the thought that it was the easiest to justify/explain, if questioned. National covers it all, right?

Yes. After all, you could drive/fly there and go biking....lol.
Well like everyone I decided to pull the trigger on AOD yes the unicorn card... and got the application under review. Called next day and said unfortunately we cannot approve you at this time due to too many recent inquiries. I spoke to a manager and he said unfortunately we do not review applications again once denied and said you also have too many new accounts.. They pulled equifax which had about 11 ( I didn't think that was terrible?) score was 711... I drafted a letter to the board for a reconsideration! Cross my fingers but expect to cut my loss for now. Became a member so worse case in the garden for 6 months then I shall try again!
