I am so excited. I hope I am not celebrating too early but, as far as I can tell, the hard part is over. I am now approved as a member. My Visa card is 'Pending Follow-up'.

Sent my paycheck stubs in last night via docusign.

No additional requests today.

I guess a moderator changed a post I made in another thread into a thread-start? Interesting. I've never seen that before. No prob.

So, as of now, AOD's site is still stating this for my application for membership and credit card:

'Reserved Approved Mbr (Regular Savings Account)

Approved

AOD Visa Credit Cards with a credit limit of $5,000 at 7.490%

Pending Follow-up'

But, I think membership is the hardest part and it appears that is approved. I'm stoked! I jumped through all the hoops. I signed up for the $5 per month IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) for $5 per month, "auto renew"

(wink because I'll cancel when approved). [Note that AOD links you to the NEABA (Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association) site but, once you go to become a member/join, you're directed to the IMBA site.] [NEABA is a chapter of IMBA]. I chose the IMBA 'National Supporter' chapter as I didn't want to pick my local Murrieta, CA chapter yet choosing an AL chapter when I live in CA seemed 'highly unlikely'. 'National' seemed the way to go and seems to have worked for me (so far) yet I saw another thread on this forum where someone was denied for National and had to change theirs to local AL? We'll see.

I did all the shenanigans of joining the bike club, taking the 'selfie' with the 'name, date, "AOD" ' written on a piece of paper, DL front/back, SS card, proof of residence, etc, etc......

But if I get this unicorn, it will all be worth it!

Of course, I'll have to take my family out to a $100 dinner to celebrate getting this card. Which, umm, will negate my first $3,333 spending on it! LOL!!!!

So AOD called my home this morning. My wife called me at work to tell me they called. I called AOD, we missed each other a few times, then connected. All she wanted was the $25 to fund the savings account and then she was going to recommend approval and submit the credit card application.

What was really weird was she accepted a credit card to fund the account. This is making me scratch my head more now than at the time. Can you fund a savings account with a credit card? Is that not a cash advance? I hope not! And if it's not a cash advance, I should have done way more than the $25 minimum since I used my citi 2% card, lol.

She said 7 - 10 days from her submittal.

@ptatohed- this particular topic was split on its own because the two older AOD threads that you replied were not remotely associated with the topic at hand. This way, your own thread provides better visibility on your specific AOD experience.
