Re: Advise needed, considering NFCU CC balance transfer

Assume TU updates and you gain 11 points, it still isn't going to make or break your chances with NFCU. I think you are just torturing yourself here and prolonging your NFCU results Smiley Wink

@Scupra, funny, TU just updated from my Discover, utilization down to 82% and increased exactly 11 points up to 655 haha, so good guess. Tonight or tomorrow EQ will be updates, the self torture is almost over Smiley Happy

Re: Advise needed, considering NFCU CC balance transfer

Omg, I was so nervous, I still haven't received any myFico notifications that my Discover had been updated on EQ yet, so I checked via EQ directly with a free report to make sure it was there and it was.

Decided to go ahead and finally apply for the NFCU Platinum, while filling out the app it asked for any balance transfer info I wanted to do so I filled out the current balances for my current cards (WF, AMEX BCE, and Discover IT), hit submit and BAM, APPROVED!

This is now my highest limit card AND lowest APR by quite a bit. $25,000 and 10.49%, I'm super stoked. And of course its 1.99% intro apr for 12-months.

Thanks for everyone here sticking with me while I tortured myself waiting to pull the trigger haha, well worth the wait.

I have no idea if it helped or not entering large amounts for a balance transfer but either way, really excited about this!

Re: Advise needed, considering NFCU CC balance transfer

Haha yes that’s a fair statement! I see all the NFCU stories, happy to be one more in the books for them.

I’ll be keeping an eye out for the BT’s to process, never done a BT before, ready to pay it down though.

I may get a sneak preview of a temporary large score increase depending on when NFCU reports for the first time and if all my other cards have 0 balances reported next month. Would be cool to know what to expect after everything is paid off.

Re: Advise needed, considering NFCU CC balance transfer

Just a quick update as this process has finally fully completed and for anyone else wondering.

The Balance Transfers all fully processed between yesterday and today. Transactions went from pending to Posted on my NFCU card and for the other cards the accounts have all now been credited the transfer amount.

Last week I had talked with NFCU asking for an update on when it would all go through, they said with new cards they don't even start the process until after 10 days of the new account. This day was Monday and by Wednesday all charges showed as Posted to my account. So it was very quick once they actually started the process after the 10 day waiting period.
