I recently applied for the Amazon Prime card and it said I wasn't applicable for instant approval or denial and would hear back within a few weeks. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, what was the outcome?

Yeah, I was just curious to see if there might be a correlation. I did do something stupid and changed my address on this application because I just moved, but haven't updated it on any of my other cards ![]()

What do the different messages usually mean?
*Edit* I called and they said about 30 days.

Usually if it says they will give a decision in 30 days, then the application hasn't been processed yet. I would wait until it changes to 2-week or 7--10 day message before speaking to them.
If it's the 7--10 days then it's either verification needed or more likely denial (does not absolutely mean you will be denied). I would call in and check what types of verification is needed or if they have a decision. If it's 2-week then I would just wait out and you may have a better chance to get approved.
Regardless of the message, it is always possible the application gets approved, and if you are a Chase customer then the account will show up in your online bank if it does get approved (in which case you don't need to ask if they have a decision, of course). If I need to speak to them in business hour I wouldn't push them into a decision if they say there is nothing else they need from me and it still takes some time to process.
Thank you so much for the information!

After getting the 30 day response from the automated line (800-432-3117), should I request to speak to an agent? Or should I call another line or just wait? I think they want verification because I applied with my new address which I haven't used for any other credit cards. Also, for Chase income, I have been told that they accept both college scholarships and money from parents counts towards income, is that correct?
*Edit* I was looking through my Chase account online, as I have a checking with them, and noticed the credit card wasn't in my applications page. I called and the woman told me that they had the application, so I don't know if that means anything.

First, I apologize for posting about almost the same thing very close together, but I wanted to get some opinions on this.
I am still at the 30 day wait for my Chase Amazon Prime card and was wondering if I should try to talk to an agent. If so, what line would you guys recommend and what should I say. I already had to call today, because when I checked my Chase account online it said I had no application in, but the woman confirmed they did have my application.
