Amex preapproval

So I'm wondering from reading others posts that amex has different tiers, I'm assuming this is the lowest tier of their cards? Thank you

Re: Amex preapproval

Congratulations on your offer! If you go incognito mode you may receive a better one. For instance, I had an offer of 50k points for 2k spend for the same card. Anyway, to answer your question.

Low tier: Cobranded cards (Hilton, Delta, etc)

Middle tier: Charge cards (Green, Gold, etc)

Upper tier: Core Revolvers (BCE, Cash Magnet, etc)

Re: Amex preapproval

That doesn't necessarily mean you won't be approved. Amex uses EX 8, so it depends what's on your report.

I have a very good report no baddies, just a shorter history and they always seem to get hung up on that. My AA is 1.5 years and my score is fico8 EXP752/EQ762/TU771. Another thing they dont like is I dont have any installment loans...well boohoo I dont need a new car lol. I think that's smart in my opinion that I don't need to run out and sock myself into a new car loan just to make them happy

Re: Amex preapproval

i was approved for the "highest tier card" the revolvers lol with 702 EXP and 15 or so inquiries. Age was 1 year of brand new history.. zero loans. 4k SL, i'd say you're not only approved but for a hefty SL as well.

Best wishes in whatever you decide

P.S. getting a "installment" loan for "better chances" of a CC approval is NOT de wei and myth

Re: Amex preapproval

my profile... 702 exp and 15 inquiries doesn't exactly scream "reliable" burrower. it actually "looks" to then as if im desperate for credit or whatever, Nope. Still approved, i was at 1% UTI when i applied, u have half a year more history then i did and a 752 EXP score (what they pull)

learning this you would probably be as confident in my statement as i am if not more😂
