Amex rules for credit increase

After 90 day I asked for a limit increase from $1000 to $2500 on my Hilton Card & was approved . My question am I eligible to ask for credit increase on my Blue Cash Preferred or do have to wait 6 months after I opened the account or 6 months after I increaded my Amex Hilton credit line. Note the credit limit is $4000 & it’s 5 months old. Your thoughts are appreciated and thank you in advance.

Once a CLI is approved on any AmEx card, one must wait 6 months to be eligible for another CLI, whether on the same card or another AmEx card.

In your scenario, you'll have to wait 6 months to request a CLI on BCP from the last approved request on the Hilton card.

Re: Amex rules for credit increase

Over one year ago, Amex's CS advised me that a credit limit increase can be granted every six months across all products; so I believe that you will have to wait 6 months after your Amex Hilton credit limit increase. Best wishes in obtaining your desired credit limit!!!

Not necessarily true. I've gotten 3 (3x the limit) increases every 3 months starting in Dec 21. Got one in Dec, March and last one in June.

Really? That's awesome. My sister just got her first 3x limit increase from $2k to $6k at 61 days. I advised her to wait 6 months for the next. It appears I was wrong...

I did have my card for a year before getting my first increase.

How do you do that?  Is there a way to ask for the CLI at 60 days?

If that's true, you are definitely an outlier. It's ALWAYS been the case that Amex only approves one CLI per accountholder every 6 months.

Re: Amex rules for credit increase

That's what I had seen on multiple forums as well. I initially got the card with $1k limit. Had it for a year before getting my first increase. I went from $1k to $25k in six months. I was hesitant to ask for over $25k so I didn't ask for $27k. I'm on my phone and can't figure how to add photos from the increases🤦🏾‍♂️
