Any point in reconning NASA FCU in my case?

They denied my credit card application on grounds of a very old public record + too many recent inquiries.

Any point in reconning it?

Agree.  This isn't like PenFed OP.  You're welcome to try, but their lending committee meets infrequently and you'd be waiting for a while before you can learn of the outcome.   It appears, based on what I've seen in most forums, reconsiderations with NASA FCU are not that successful.  YEMV.

I, too, haven't heard much in the way of positive recons with them. Do you have a  good argument for the denial reasons? A lot of recent inquiries means you'd probably be better off just waiting 6 months and then trying again.

I have not read any posts about successful recons on approvals, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try, if you want to try. Who knows! You may be the first.

A mortgage is different in that the loan is secured by the property.  CCs are unsecured lines, especially if you burned or IIB some of leders in the process.  Best to wait until your BK ages off for better chances of any approvals, especially with some CUs which would tent to be more picky.

I know that but what we are saying is it's years later and if your profile is proving it then another chance is deserved.Like me we are at 7 years should be deleted but because Chapm7 it's 10 years.

I was successful with NASA recon.  I joined and apped but with a BK7 only 4 years old, they denied me before I hit "submit".  I called to CSR and she gave me an email to send a recon.

I told them the truth regarding my BK7.  1) Lost $100K job, 2) Financial stress caused a divorce, 3) Divorce cause short-term stress-related medical issues, 4) Short term medical issues cause me to drink under Drs. direction 5) My dog ran away because I was short tempered due to drinking 6) My electric got shut off which caused the beer to get warm.

All of this is 100% true.  I was approved within an hour or so of submitting.  They want to know that BK was not a result of poor, irresponsible behavior.  The only poor behavior was I did not get a cooler and ice to keep the beer cold.  Shame on me!

Approved for $5K Shuttle CC, I love me some NASA.

My BK is 4 yrs old as well when I apped for membership & C.C....went through the normal process and was approved 8K, no document needed.

3 days later did the same thing with Penfed, approved but only 1.5K, again no document needed, pretty happy with it.
