App for Cap 1 Venture with Frozen Bureaus

Hi all, My friend apped for the Cap 1 Venture. But forgot he froze his accounts in October. So, of course, he was instantly denied.

My question is whether he can (1) unfreeze his reports and call Cap 1 back and tell them to do the credit pull or will he need to (2) unfreeze his reports and do a whole new app.

He told me that intended to try option 1. I told him that I thought he might need to do option 2, but I'm not sure.

What say you?

I would have him thaw his bureau files, wait an hour, and then reapp with Cap1.
