AppleCard Approval Recommendations??

So i have been approved for the Apple Card but with only a $250 SL. I have been rebuilding my scores onver the last year.

In April 2020 all scores were around 580. Today via credit karma, EQ is 657, TR 666 and Ex 642. Six charge offs all about 4-5 years old

and one collection about five years old are pulling me down.  Opened a few secured cards and qualified for Care credit and Alpahoen. Alphaoen has an $8500 SL. My question is should I accept the low $250 SL to get my foot in the door with Apple or focus on raising my scores another 20-30 points to qualify for a higher SL or just wait another 18-24 months until all badies fall off and hope for a higher staring CL. Current utilization is low about 18%.

IMO I would decline offer and wait until you get your 20 point boost and they run it again.

Refuse it and wait a few months.... let some things fall off and your score go up even more...

Also when your ready you might want to app with a shopping cart....

Also currently no APR redux, so you get what you get... though there always the 0% financing offers...(if you get enough of a CL to use them)

Re: AppleCard Approval Recommendations??

Congratulations on your approval! If you don't end up accepting the $250 offer, next time you apply go on Apple's website and choose an item or items that are eligible for an installment plan and add them to your cart.  Now act like you're checking out and choose at checkout the option to do an installment.  I applied and put an iPad air in my cart and was approved for $950.  I then applied and put 4 of the 27 inch iMacs and 1 iPad air in my cart and I was approved with an even higher limit of $2100. Once you're approved if you're satisfied with the offer go to your iPhone Wallet app and click the plus sign and then accept the offer there. Afterwards you can go back to your computer and cancel the order completely.

Re: AppleCard Approval Recommendations??

Took your tip. Declined my original $250 approval. Went ro apple.com and put about $2500 worth

of merchandise in my cart with the installment options. Selected apple card ad the option, appplied

and one hour later, bam $1500 approval!! Now to accept of decline and try to add about $4,000 in the cart

and apply again and see if I can  get more? Thoughts??

Apple Card Approved $250 > $1500.

I was initially approved for the apple card for $250. I declined and went to apple.com and added some items and

applied at checkout and was approved for $1500.  Pretty excited, deciding if i should accept or try for another approval with additional $ in the cart at checkout. Dont want to get too greedy but would be interested to see if they would increase the $1500 offer.

@Anonymous  Congrats on the 1500 sl especially after rejecting the 250 offer!

How much did you put in the cart to trigger the 1500 approval?

Re: Apple Card Approved $250 > $1500.

I put $2600 in the cart to trigger the $1500 approval. That is the dilemma, accept the $1500 or decline and add $4,000 or so

in the cart and see if they bump to $2000 or so.

OP your 2 threads have been merged into one here in applications as no actual approval has been done. Please refrain from cross posting on same subjects it can lead to confusion by the members and isnt inline with our TOS. Once you accept an actual preapproval and it is completed then you can create a new thread on the approval over in approvals if you wish. Welcome to myFico Smiley Happy
