Hi all,
I'm up to apply for a new credit card. I was wondering, should I apply for the Barclays card I expect to be approved for, or should I apply for a better card and in case I get declined reapply for the normal card and ask them to not pull my credit again?
I expect to be approved for the Rewards card (CK says FICO's starting from just 590 are approved), but the Arrival card has better benefits for me.
Thanks
Sincerely

What is your actual FICO?
I don't know, I have 2 credit cards, 9mo old, 1 INQ, good payment history and <10% util.
Got it, I'll look into the FICO score.
In the meantime, could it hurt to apply for a card you might get declined for and then try to call recon and tell them a less rewarding card is okay too?

Why settle for less?

Never ever do that and not a good idea. Before you apply for the card, check what your fico scores are before pressing submit on any application. If you apply and get denied, the inquiry will be on your report for 2 years and you'd have nothing for it. Is the card you are applying for a "need" or "want". If you can wait after getting everything in order will help. Start by getting your ficos, collect data on people who have been approved as to what their scores were etc. Another way to do further research check the credit database and it will give you a general idea of why people where decline, limits etc.
Hello,
Just want to know where to find this info.
