Banc of California is completely disassociated with the decision making process,  it's all on US Bank.

Hi all,

I put in my application today and got this response:

Thank you for applying.

We will review your application and may ask you to provide additional information or documents. You’ll receive a detailed letter from us within 7-10 business days.

I also got this email:

Thank you for applying for a Banc Of California credit card. We are in the process of reviewing your application, but are currently unable to fully verify your identity. To continue processing the application, we must validate your identity and can do so using our automated self-service tool. Please go to the link provided below on either your mobile device or tablet within the next 10 days and follow the step by step instructions:

You will be asked for a valid government issued ID and picture of yourself taken with your mobile device to match back to the application that was submitted. If you are unable to submit your verification through your mobile device or tablet, please mail a copy of your driver’s license and social security card to the address listed below to complete this step.

I would think this is not a denial and it is just a normal step in the approval process because I remember this is exactly what happened when I applied for the US Bank Cash+ in Nov 2021.  So, let's see what happens next!

Update.  I activated the app and sent them both sides of my DL and a selfie, as directed.   They responded I can expect a letter in the mail next 7-10 business days about the final status of the application.

Fingers crossed!  

Btw, they pulled TU for the credit check.

Something similar happened to me. I got a letter saying they couldn't verify my identity, I called in, and they had me fax over my driver's license and social security card. I got an email approval surprisingly fast, within a day or two.

I got the card!!!!

Two days after I submitted the application, I got this message today:

Congratulations!

You are approved for the World Mastercard® Max Cash Preferred Card.

Here are a few things to know about your new card:

• Your revolving line of credit is $10,000.

• Your card should arrive via U.S. Postal Service in approximately four days.

• If you requested a balance transfer, you will receive a letter in the mail with information regarding your request.
