Will the credit card company's give you an automatic CLI if your reports are locked? Also, can they do a soft pull if they're locked?
From a periodic account review (AR) perspective, a variety of lenders can yield auto-CLIs if reports are locked and if the account is eligible. That said, if you initiate the request, some of them would not be able to process the CLI request unless your CRs are unlocked. A lender that comes to mind is SYNCB, which typically processes them via SP, but reports have to be accessible.
Creditors whom you have accounts with can still SP your reports when they're locked/frozen, and they can still issue auto CLIs.
Some won't approve CLI requests with locked reports even if they're SP CLIs, but others will.
AH, very helpful - which explains why some banks do a SP while credit is locked and others deny when asked.
Most recently, Apple Card and Citibank both gave an automatic CLI which were SP and did not trigger an alert; while US Bank denied due to locked account (HP) which they tried according to CK.
Thank you for the information.
