No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I recently applied for a CLI but I was denied because I did not own the card for more than 10 months and did not have enough deposits/investments with its affiliates. I guess BofA new policy is to reserve higher limita to people with large bank accounts or investments. My current limit is only $3K, so it's not that I currently have a high limit with them.
Has anyone else have a similar experience?
Yes I experienced this. I got my card May 7, 2021. And I kept getting the message you got and then on may 8, 2022(a year and day later), I got approved for cli. They just got get to know you before they grant you more credit. Try again in 2 months.
No CLI button for me on the app yet. 😢

Me too! Had the card almost 18 months and no button. I don't need a CLI but always like to see what I can do
Funny that I run across this thread. I just logged in this morning to make a payment and see a 7k increase (22 to 29k).
Couple DP's...
Account opened 2013
Current balance $3400
TU FICO 8 800 even

You can call in and tell the CSR that you want to request a CLI. The "request a credit limit increase" hyperlink is not the equivalent of a preapproval i.e. you can have the link and get denied, and there have been a number of data points proving that you can get a CLI even if you don't have a link showing in your account.
Remember that BoA CLIs nowadays only trigger a soft pull, usually from Transunion.
I'm guessing BOA wants a full year before bumping up the credit limit on cards?

On some newer accounts and depending on the customer profile, yes. There are obviously going to be individuals (i.e. YEMV) who meet UW criteria and can receive a CLI sooner than 12 months, though.

Have you tried looking on the website. I see the option for a CLI on the website, but nothing on the bofa app in my case
