Received a letter yesterday from Barclay stating that the reason for the denial of my cli request was..."high amount of credit available from other accounts". What's strange is that out of all the reasons that were available to them for example such as a recent cli less than 6 months ago (cuz I got one in September) or delinquencies (which I've got quite a few) they had to rely on "high amount...". Now, my question is, am I destined to be stuck at $2050 with my current credit lines from other banks? Also, when Barclay does auto-cli do they look at this factor as well or only when I request the increase?

I was declined a CLI for the same reason a few months ago. I got a $3000 CLI from them the next month. I don't think they look at that sort of thing when you're up for an auto CLI. Also, I think they like to give you CLIs on their own rather than you requesting one. Just be patient. You'll get one when your account is eligible for an auto CLI.

Glad to hear that you got your cli! Great news. Thanks for your respnse :-)
I got the same reason for the CLI denial...."High amount of credit available from other accounts".
Barclay refused to consider an SP CLI.......Account opened for 13 months and told it is not eligible for auto CLI.
They are just crazy....and they wonder why I do not run dollars through their account. I prefer to get my rewards from Amex Delta, Bank america rewards, Cap One QS.
Money spent for rewards currently outweighs any reason to spend for CLI that will not be honored or considered.
Recon 3 times.....
What the CSR states is too many recent accounts opened. That is true....but loyalty seems to be worthless in my circumstances.
