CSP application cancelled - venting

After a week and a half of not getting any sort of update from Chase, I called this morning to cancel the application for CSP.

Applied 4/15, called recon and they needed to verify ID and address. I faxed it in within 15mins.  Called in to check status every few days but no updates, just the typical 7-14 business days.  Even went into a Chase branch to have their reps verify ID and such, but to no avail, they could not do anything since I do not have an account with them.

Called in again today, they received the fax sometime last week but have not processed it.  I gave up and cancelled the application.

Our of the 6 applications I applied since 4/15, Chase is the last one that has not given me any updates.

Approved for Amex Delta Gold, Citi Premier and Prestige, Cap1 Venture and Discover.

Chase, what gives?

They can likely see that you opened all of those other accounts and are taking their time on purpose. That's how banks work 😭

CSP was my first CC application in almost 2yrs.

With Chase, it is patience.  Sometimes, their app. review takes 30 days maximum...

I will probably try again in about a year.

Thought about it and CSP might not pair up well vs. Citi Premier/Prestige combo I'll be using mainly.

Could be tough to spend $4k in the next 3 months on top of the Premier/Prestige/Delta/Venture min spend to get reward points.

Why would you cancel it and waste a HP?  Patience is virtue.

Getting 5 cards is probably enough for now.

I might not meet the $4k min for the CSP to get the reward so it's probably better to wait it out.

all in the next 3 months.

Why did you app for 2 cards with almost same bonus categories, for sign up bonus?
