so a few weeks ago, i applied for the caesars total rewards visa through comenity bank.
got the dreaded, "your application is under review, expect a letter in 14 days".
as to no suprise i got the denial letter in the mail.
letter states that my credit score as of jan 20 was a 480.
- inquiries did adversely affect the score
- length of time oldest bank revolving account has been established too short
- not enough bankcard debt experience
- proportion of satisfactory trades too low
when i check my fico 8 credit report, comenity bank only did a hard pull from equifax. at the time of the pull, my fico was 688.
as of last week, it's now 714.
i've had 4 inquiries since august 2019, and the 4th was the comenity bank hp.
i have 3 revolvers. oldest one, i am an au on. (opened 7/2016).
my first revolver (not au) opened on 9/18.
utilization was at 24% at time of applying and is now at 12%.
according to fico report, i have no late payments, deliquencies, baddies, collection etc.
all clean
should i try to do a recon with comenity bank?
i've read some older threads where success rate with them is really low for recon.
thanks in advance for all your assistance.
Sorry for your denial OP. My opinion is whether they are recon friendly or not, you already took the HP.
I do not know anything about Comenity, but I would try. Don't think it can hurt at this point.
Sorry about your denial. Like Smart said, it's worth a shot since you already took a HP.
sounds good.
i'll make the call this week.
it'll be my first time doing a recon call.
any experiences with comenity? any tips?
Comenity doesn't recon

Echoing the above, years ago, there were small successes on such outcomes. No longer the case with UW automation if denied for credit-related reasons.
Good luck!
thanks for the heads up @CreditCuriosity and @FinStar
i'll just wait it out and try to apply later in the year once my first non au revolver hits 1 year.
