Call Discover and ask for a secured?

Applied last week for a Discover it and was denied bc of two baddies from 2011. When I called to verify, no mention of a secured. Should I call and recon for a secured card instead?

Have to be offered it.. Mystery for all who they offer it to or not, can't apply unless offered.

discover does have checking accounts and I took advantage of the 50 bucks back last year on that one I have never been offered a secured card. why would think you would get a secured card offer if you been with them if your credit is not over 700. Ssince I have a checking account with them I could probably call and get one, or not. I don't need a secured card with discover I'm good with them it's Citibank I still need to make up with

Call them and ask if they will consider you for the secure card.  You can't recon if it was not offered to you...  But definately call.

What are your scores op? I was approved for an unsecured discover it last month with a 6+ year old judgement, and a couple 120 lates from 2011. Apped for 0% for 18 months and was counter offered 22%. At the time I had a 645 EQ.
