Cap 1 Quicksilver - Should I reapply?

Hello,

I filed BK Jan 2020, discharge 5/2020. I currently have 2 CCs (Navy Fed and Cap 1) with both having limits over $3000.

I applied for a CLI with Cap 1 and was only give $500 (no credit pull). A few days later,  I applied for a Cap 1 card that the website said I pre-qualified for. They asked for proof of income. I sent pay stubs. They declined my application because my check stubs were not sufficient enough for them. I asked if I could send my bank statements but they told me my application was closed and to reapply.

Should I reapply using my bank statements and consider the hard pulls I just took as "pulls for the CLI I got" or just leave things alone?

If it were me, I wouldn't do it.   Usually when lenders decline you for some reason, they stick to it no matter what you do.   You have a $3K limit, which means it's not a toy card and you can grow it over time.    I don't think they will approve you no matterr what you send them and I would not take another triple pull from them.   You should apply with Penfed or some other lenders that will give you high limits.   Then after you have those high limits established, if there is a C1 card that you really want (enough to pay with a triple pull), then go back for it.   Higher limits beget higher limits.    I can't imagine which of their cards you would want.   Good luck.

Congrats 🎉🎈🎊 on your approval. I agree I would not apply again and take 3 more hard pulls.

I'm assuming your bk is a bk7? in general cap 1 wont approve cards within 6 months of each other. when did you get that first cap 1 card?

Just curious, is your nfcu cc a secured nrewards?

Re: Cap 1 Quicksilver - Should I reapply?

Thank you all for the advice. I will not re-apply. I'll just tell myself the hard pulls I took and the CLI on both cards balanced themselves out in regards to my new scores.

BK was Chapter 7 and I got the Cap 1 card in April. I wasn't aware of the 6 month rule. I would have guessed I would have been auto. decline if that were the issue but it was proof of income that got me. Navy Fed started as secured then graduated 6 months after I had it. CLI limit on NF is $6500.

Sorry to hear that about Cap 1 but yeah Cap 1 is usually very strict nowadays too. However, congrats for your approvals for both cards.

What is the current Cap 1 card? If it's the platinum why not product change?

Yes perhaps you can upgrade. theres an address bar trick people used while logged into their cap 1 acct to see if they are eligible for an upgrade, i upgraded from plat to QS in oct via the trick. theres a thread on it somewhere on this forum.

You type /productupgrade in the adress bar after the =
