Sorry to hear. Better luck to you in 6 months.
@CorpCrMgr1 wrote:@youngandcreditwrthy Correct! I should add that neither Cap1 cards get a lot of use. I use to request a CLI now and then, but gave up since I have better CC. I was reading in the Forums of CL transfers. Having never done it, I gave it a try a couple of weeks ago. Had to keep $500 on the non bucket Card2. Thus, to Cap1 I just had a "CLI" and now would have to wait six months for another. I know it's ridiculous.
That just seems so absurd. I can't recall but I do remember seeing that as a reason for cli denial from another institution( might be a smaller bank/CU- can't recall). But I would think Cap1 wouldn't use that reasoning. I'd try again in a month or two just to see if that reason code goes away. It's truly YMMV with them and if the algorithm is feeling friendly, it has approved cli's under the 6 month window. No harm, no foul pressing their cli button. I try every month for science 🤨
I've found Capone rigid on the six months and stingy on top of it. I guess I don't care, I seldom use their card.
@nytokyobred79 I just might. Thank you for the advice!

For dp's, I got my Venture Rewards card in July 2022. I was able to somehow squeeze 1K in Sept 2022, then another 4K in Dec 2022. And after that I was able to get 4 more cli's at 1.5, 1K, 1K, 1K at roughly 3 month intervals with the last one this Jan. I put somewhat decent spend the quarter that I got 4K. Otherwise, it's been about 50-100 a month on recurring charges. All were self requested cli's. I really don't know how their algorithm works but I can say that it's possible to get cli's sooner but YMMV. I'm coming up on another quarter and will attempt again this month.
