Re: Capital One Income Verification?

Interesting.  I haven't received a CLI from Cap One yet, I keep getting the "account too new" message, but I am coming up on the 3rd statement which a lot of folks say is the sweet spot.  But our combined incomes are well over $100k.  I have to assume they will ask for verification.  Like you, I have no problem sending paystubs, but I'm certainly not sending my tax return!

Agreed. I waited for 6th statement to go for the CLI.  The  only thing I can think of, is that I had about $500 balance on my card., but have 6 months left on the 0% APR.

Maybe they want 0 balance before the first CLI. Hope this helps

Well I am in shock.  I got a $1000 increase without issue.  That is so strange they asked for verification from you.

Wow that's crazy. Is the Venture your only card with them? I would just send the pay stubs if you're ok with that and hope it's good enough (without the tax returns). I think this is the first I've ever heard of Cap1 requiring tax returns, usually their income verification consists of sending pay stubs, W2, or bank statements.

Isn't tax return W2 😇

They asked for the same of me. I did it. I told them I included $700/mo from my parents as I'm in school and they help my limited income by paying rent. They then wanted their income. That's when I scoffed at them and said absolutely not. Needless to say I'll never have a Capital One card and I'm ok with that.

Fair enough. Full time employed with decent income, but well under 100k. Do not know what set off the alarm bells

I asked for a CLI on my venture and they asked me for POI. All I did was sent in pay stub and they ok with it. It cause I had a jump on my income from 180k to 240 cause of year end bonus. All they increased me is from 15k to 22k. Also increased my QS from 8k to 16k

No, that's only part of it. Your W2 doesn't contain your dependent children's ss# and birthdates, but your tax return does.

Oh the OP meant they wanted everything the tax ppl help filed? That would be first I heard they ask to send that in. I've heard of Amex asking u to sign a 4056 forum so they can submit to get info on taxes but never heard of a credit company actually asking u to send it in
