Care Credit ... how to know which option to use(?)

So, I am considering Care Credit as an optional account to open to help in the rebuild process.  I likely will apply with a co-signer so that my parents can use the account as well.  I have about $3,000 worth of dental work to get done as well as wanting an account for my fur baby if ever needed.  Right now my FICO8's are arounde 620.  I want to apply with a co-signer in an attempt to not only get the promotional financing, but really to have a joint account that can be utilized by the other party, if needed.

After reading through the topics it seems that a 0% Discover would be the *ideal* option, but I have been at war with Navient over their reporting on my student loans so that just isn't an option right now.

Here is where I am:

-Open the account for $5,000 so as to not have such a high UTI -- I only need $3,000

-No interest if paid in full during promotional period - 24 months @ $125/month (this is on the $3,000 balance, not the $5,000 limit)

Here are my questions:

(1) Will Care Credit allow me to pay over the $125/month?  I would be able to allocate $200/month towards this payment

(2) If I apply with a co-signer, will Care Credit report to all three CRA's for both myself and the co-signer?

(3) Is the promotional period the best way to enter into this account(?) ... their website says there is a second option to have a reduced APR with longer payment options so I am not sure which to choose?  I can afford $200/month, with even a balloon payment early 2018.  However, being able to pay above the miminum and balloon in the winter is really the plan I have now.

My FICO Scores:

Journey Milestones: Completed Federal Student Loan Rehab in Sept 2017. Settled First Premier Bank CC in August 2017. Constant uphill battle with Navient incorrect reporting on seven (7!) private student loans. No TLs listed in delinquency. Obsessively keeping 2 CC UTI @ 7-9% monthly.

Re: Care Credit ... how to know which option to use(?)

Question number one: The answer is yes.

As to the other questions, I am not sure. Others can tell you. I always take the most amount of time I can to pay. That is determined by the creditor. My vet lets me use the 18 month option. I bought glasses on the card and was only offered 12 months, which I used. imho it is best to ask before assuming how many months you have to pay. Also, just my recommendation, if you know you can't make the final interest free payment do not use that option. (I was not even aware of the other option you mentioned. Wonder if that is new.)

Good luck to you and let us know how it goes. I do predict problems for you with the credit score you gave. Again, good luck.

With a 620 Fico score, I doubt if you will be approved for $5000. My score was around that when I was approved and I was only approved for $800, however after 6 mos., it's now $4800. Wishing you the best.

I expected the same challenges as well, which is why I think a joint account would benefit me most.  An $800-ish credit limit won't pay for two crowns, unfortunately.

12/17: EQ - 630 / TU - 624 / EX - 619 // Mortgage: 584, 612, 671

Re: Care Credit ... how to know which option to use(?)

Heard from my dentist on Monday ... the procedure should only be around $1000 OOP.  Applied to Care Credit & got approved for $2,000.  That makes me SOOOO HAPPY because I won't have a high UTI right away.  Maybe my score went up over these last few weeks ...

I got six months interest free ... Really happy about that.

This will be a good account for me to have -- mainly because I have a hunting dog that likes to get herself into all $ort$ of interesting $ituation$ lol

Congratulations! That sounds great. I use my Care Credit for both me and my pets. It works great. Again, congratulations!
