Chances of getting CSP ..Help

Hi guys ..

Please help me ..I don't want to waste a HP so I need advice ..

My scores

EQ 695  and 15 INQ ,EX last I checked 688 and freaking 20 or 21 INQ , TU is 700  10 or less INQ ( not sure )

One nagative Judgment will fall off in Sep of this year

I have about 15 accounts inculding car loan that will be one yr old in may . All accounts are in good standing and no lates or missing payments.

I have one card with Chase (freedom) and I really would love to have the CSP .

My oldest card in file  is 10 year old ( closed account in good standing ) but I was not active using any CC from 2008 to 2013

>>

Why Do I need CSP ? ..

I'm starting a new job in May where I will be traveling a lot and staying in Hotels . The comany is paying for eveything and I'm allowed to keep all the miles and points etc. .I was given the option to use my CC and get the  the money back . I will be traveling Every week and home for the weekends .

Now ..

I can't get ANY amex yet becuase of my Judgments etc

I already have Chase card and it makes sense to get the CSP since I will be traveling 40 weeks in a year .

Thank you .

Re: Chances of getting CSP ..Help

Have you checked their site to see if you are pre-equal?  If it shows there then it is a solid offer.  Otherwise, it is a 50/50 chance since you already have an account with Chase.  The inquiries though may be the deal breaker...

How long have you had the freedom card?

Re: Chances of getting CSP ..Help

For starters, have you gotten a pre-approval for the CSP?

Edit: Yes-Its-Me beat me to it.

What other cards do you have and what are their limits?  What is the limit on the Freedom?  The CSP starts at $5k limit so I am curious. Also, it may be best to wait for the judgement to fall off before applying.

That gives Chase enough time to see usage on the Freedom card and also build your internal score with them.  Waiting a bit should also let your inquiries age a bit.

Re: Chances of getting CSP ..Help

I have Discover it 5500  1400 balance

Master card Ring 4000   0 balance

Citi DC 1200 and 0

Best buy 2000 and 380 balance

Most of my cards are less then one yr old but my oldest card in file is 10 yr old .

With cap one I have three cards and over all limit with is 7800 with over all balance of 1400

My chase card is has 2200 limit . Last time I checked  my over all limit in all cards about 30k with 10% used

I'm agreeing with you . May be I should wait ..

Now for travel expenses i'm not sure what the best card to use ..

Sometimes, we can't just call it.  If you really want the CSP since you are going to be travelling, pay down the Discover.  It seems Chase approved you when you already had the judgement.

So pay the balance down, wait for it to up and then apply for the CSP.  The good thing is there is recon should it go into pending.  Remember, these analysts are human beings and may have mercy on you.  So it entirely up to you how bad you want it if you are not able to wait.
