Does the 5/24 rule apply to the Chase Amazon Prime card? I just apped for it and was declined. I'm at 7/24 with a couple of new accounts in the last 2 months (Amex Cash Magnet and Barclay Wyndham). I've had the Freedom and FU cards for almost 3 years. I thought the UW on the Amazon card would be more lax than their UR cards, but maybe I was wrong. Do you think I might have a chance calling recon?
5/24 applies to all cards unless you have a star pre-approval in Chase Credit Journey/Just for You.
Was that their reason for denial?
You could call recon and plea your case.
Good liuck
Same boat. I was 7/24 last November and I got denied. It said too many recent accounts.
i always try the recon line...but usually over 5/24 is a hard rule. but since you already took the hard pull you might as well give it a shot.

You can make an attempt to recon I don't think it'll bear fruit. But there's nothing to lose by not calling I guess...except time.
+1
Yes its 5/24. Dumb, but it is what it is
Yep, I just got the letter online and it said too many new accounts in the last two years.
Meh... I thought I had a shot since 5/24 didn't used to apply to these cards. That's what I get for not doing my research first.
I guess I could wait until July 2021, but let's be real... I'm not going to make it that long...
I know. Its such a long time when there are so many cards. I am going to wait until Sept 2021(I applied for 4 credit cards in Aug 2019, never again), when I am 2/24. ouch.
