So I recently apply for a Chase Freedom card and was approved 2500 SL. So I decided to apply for the Chase Sapphire Preferred at the same time, since they would only do one hard pull if applied in the same day (From what I read). Unfortunately I got a 30 day denied (bummer). I called the recon line and spoke with the CSR but could not approve me because late payment I had 3 years ago. Also they pulled from my Experian (my lowest score) I was wondering, should I give the recon line another shot? Or should I just forget about it?
You can try, but more than likely they have made notes in their system. And, if you were only approved for $2,500 on the Freedom, it is unlikely they would be willing to extend more at this time. Besides, the CSP's starting limit is $5K.
