Uh, they do that to protect against shady people. They're preventing money laundering.

sorry dude but you acted like a child. Doesnt matter if your credit is great now and you have top tier cards. You burned them. just because it fell off your credit report, it didnt fall off theirs. They actually approved you from 2 cards and you were upset about the CL? all you had to do was use them, pay your bills on time and then ask for a CLI months later so they can see how much you grown and learned from your mistake. Lets turn your situation into this story: You're 18 years old and you go into my liquor store and stole hundreds of dollars worth of liquor from me (Use of credit card without paying). I called the cops to get you arrested but unfortunately they didnt catch you (creditors). 12 years later you enter my store again and i recognize you. Just because you werent caught doesnt mean i forgot. I actually let you come inside my store because well it was 12 years ago and you must have grown up but im going to keep an eye on you and give you a second chance but im going to make sure you have very little luck and ripping me off again. This was what they were doing to allow you to become a customer again. Chase freedom is not meant to have high limits anyways. Its a starter card for cash rewards. Not everyone if not anyone gets a CL over 5k. they want you to apply for their slate or CSP once you become established. Thumbs down for what you did.

thanks dude and i think you are right but somehow now i want to do business with Banks that have NO idea of my past credit and that Don't feel the need to keep a special eye on me, i want to be treated like a normal customer because right now my Credit Report looks like One of a normal customer but i see your point ...................i would rather go to another Liquor Store that i have never been before and be treated like a fresh new customer

Yes
I believe he stated elsewhere that a fellow board member made it for him but I could be mistaken. I saw someone else today with a similar one but forgot who
Irish is correct. Another board member hooked it up.

Nixon - you need a new wallet to hold your soft money
That doesn't really make sense to me. Chase holds a grudge against their cardholder for not paying an account 12 years ago, thus, refusing to do cli on current cards. However, they're ok with opening 2 credit card accounts for that same person. Where's logic?

Actually Chase opened 3 Credit Card accounts for me this year, a Chase Amazon Visa, a Chase Freedom Visa and a Chase AARP Visa...................The Amazon Visa i closed it a few months ago and it had a Credit line of only $500, So Not much was lost there
