Well I applied to Chase Freedom to work on miles and to get a zero APR. All three Fico scores over 700, low debt to income, and very low utilization of existing cards. I have a bankruptcy from 8yrs ago. That was due to fraud by ex that ran up card (which I sued him over that and other things) but it still on my report. Chase denied me instantly online and the reconsideration guy I called told me that's why. I have Discover, Amex, Cap One cards with nearly 45k credit line, own my car and home free and clear, but Chase shot me down. First hard hit ever for CC application that failed (although I don't apply but every couple years). Guess I'll try again after BK falls off. Any suggestions for a BK friendly % APR intro offer card would be appreciated. Trying to start some home renovations before my home equity loan comes through.
Believe Chase changed their policy recently that if a BK is on your report at all auto declined and cannot be reconned until it is gone. Believe this is a fairly recent change. Use to be a denial and could be reconned, not anymore apparently. On a positive side only two years left.
I just got approved for a Venture card a few weeks ago with 15k credit line. Sucks I got a hard pull for this crappy Chase card. Chase also suspended my bank account until I could do a 3rd party verification that my credit union could verify I had money for a transfer of $1k. Shut me out of my account over Xmas weekend basically and they already approved two other transactions of bigger amounts earlier in the month from the same credit union that went through fine. Chase sucks. I'm closing my checking/savings account with them. Opened a checking with my credit union as mentioned and with Cap One with zero monthly fees and much better customer service overall. I have Quicksilver and Venture with Cap One.

Good for you! Don't sweat it. You're not missing anything not having the Freedom. Or any other Chase CC IMHO. There are way too many out there to fret over one.

If you have court papers and whatnot why hasn't this been disputed with the CRA's?
