I applied on Feb 4. and got the "7 to 10 day review" message. So I waited....
On Sat. Feb 12 I recieved a letter from Chase stating that they needed to verify it was me
who applied. So I called in on Mon Feb 14. and was verified. The CSR then said she needed
to transfer me to Lending so they could review my application. I was on hold for 50 min...then I hung up.
I called the automated status check line that evening and got the
"Your app is pending we'll notify you in writing in approx. 2 weeks"....
Today is the Feb 28, exactly 2 wks since I first got the 2 wk message......
This month I got to 4/24 so I really don't understand the delay.
Also, I opened up a Checking acct. with them on Feb 9. That was pretty easy..lol
They pulled Ex 726, no inq in 12mo. utl 18% No Derogs, Pymnt history Exceptional.

There can be any number of reasons why applications require further processing. Lending is a different beast than opening up deposit accounts.
Personally, I would've stayed on hold (if you were not in the middle of any crucial commitments or tasks) since you were already in the pipeline for ~50 minutes to speak with lending. An item to in mind is times are different compared to a year ago or so and long periods of hold times with a variety of companies is sort of the norm these days.
So, you can try reaching out again during an earlier part of the day or when it's more suitable for your schedule, but plan on those hold times.

I called this morning (888-270-2127), the CSR takes a look at my app and says I still have a few more days left for review......ok. Maybe this is the New norm, an instant approval or a full 30 day review.

Just to add that the email with an approval took 3 days each time.
Lol...Yesterday I called and noticed the 2wk message reverted back to the 7-10 day message.
So I got a CSR right away and he stated that in the final stage of my review they tried to pull my TU report but it was frozen, so they denied my app......
He then said that he could put it up for recon and that I'll have to unfreeze my CR, and
the process could take up to 2 wks....lol....
All those who have gotten the CSR to verify you and then approve you with one phone call, I envy you....
Now the review message says 2wks again..............

In your op, you stated "I really don't understand the delay"...since you were aware your TU was frozen, why would you submit an application knowing Chase may pull any of the 3 and in a variety of cases a combo of 2? So, it appears the delay wasn't really caused by Chase, no?
Most individuals who can usually get verified over the phone typically have their CRs unfrozen unless they learn from any correspondence or after speaking with UW that their CRs are frozen.

When I applied on Feb 4. all of my reports were unfrozen and they pulled EX.
When I got the review message I figured it just for verification, so I froze them again, not realizing
that a review ment another HP on TU or EQ.
Well maybe someone might learn something from all this, I sure did.

Yeah, always leave everything unfrozen until they have finalized the review. Often times Chase pulls a secondary CRA for additional review data. Hopefully, you'll get an approval after all of this...fingers crossed.
